What is different for AC and DC EV charger?
AC EV charging and DC EV charging differ in where the AC power is converted, either inside or outside the car. AC EV chargers require the onboard charger to convert the power while DC EV chargers have a converter built into the charger itself and can feed power directly to the car’s battery.
Nowadays, 3 phase EV chargers are available in AC and DC. This is not a standard to distinguish between AC and DC EV charger stations.
