According to Reuters in London, car sales in the European Union increased by 14.6% in October.

Of these, most are electric vehicles, and 3 out of every 10 cars sold are hybrids.

Continued Growth of Electric Vehicles

According to data from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), car sales in the EU have increased for 15 consecutive months.

Sales of pure electric vehicles increased by 36% year-on-year, and hybrid vehicles increased by 40%.

Pure electric vehicles accounted for 14% of car sales in October, surpassing diesel vehicles once again.

What is the Future of Electric Vehicle?

In 2015, diesel vehicle sales accounted for 50% of all car sales, but now, in just 10 months, pure electric vehicles have increased by 53%. In the first ten months of 2023, electric vehicle registrations reached 47%.

Initially, some automakers, analysts and dealers worried that surging EV sales would return to flatline as cheaper gasoline-powered vehicles became available.

Unfortunately, they were wrong.

Currently, there are 1.04 million new cars registered in the EU.
